Groups will turn these in and the teacher can pick one to potentially put on the test. (5 min)ДЄdditional Concept Related Activity: When students finish the exit card, they should work in groups to create their own application problem using quadratics. The students will check their answers and ask questions about the activity as needed.Д¬losure: Students will individually complete the exit card on schoology, which asks them to factor a perfect square trinomial and solve a quadratic equation by completing the square. Students will walk around the room to each problem card and work on the problems until they have completed them all. Students will follow along for the first example, and then will work together or work at the board for the other examples.ДЈ. They will follow along and raise their hands to help fill in the notes.Дў. The teacher will walk through any of the problems that students have questions about. The teacher will go over the answers to the activity. If a question appears to be stumping most of the students, the teacher can pause the activity to discuss the problem. The teacher will walk around to answer any questions.

The teacher will place the problem cards around the room and students can work individually or in groups to work on them. The teacher will explain the instructions to the application problems activity. Then, the teacher will have the students work together or go to the board to work on the other examples. The teacher will work through the first example in detail. The teacher will call on students to see what they remember from the video. The teacher will review perfect square trinomials and the steps to completing the square. After the warm up problems, the teacher will have the students go back to their seats and pull up their guided notes. They can also have more time to practice the concept while other students work on application problems.ДЎ. (10 min)Дifferentiation: Students needing differentiation will be given more structured guided notes and can also be grouped with students who have mastered the concept. The 5 warm up questions will contain a mixture of solving by factoring and solving by completing the square.

Students enter the room with the to-do list on the smart tv, which tells them to turn in their work from the night before, download the notes and activity for today, and then go to the board with a partner (or group of 3) for a warm up.

Students will bring this work to class to turn in. They will follow along and complete the problems in the video. Materials: flipped lesson video, warm up problems, guided notes, application problems activity, schoology exit card, homework (book problems), smart tv, ipadsДЄnticipatory Set: The night before, the students will be required to watch the video about completing the square. Students will successfully solve a quadratic equation by completing the square. Students will successfully factor a perfect square trinomial on the exit card.Дў.
